Why Do Custom Assets Look Blurry?

A large preview does not create new detail. Asset Studio keeps the original dimensions visible and warns when a layer is placed above its original pixel size.

Check the three different sizes

Original dimensions describe the uploaded image. Placement scale changes its size in the composition. Preview zoom only changes how large the canvas appears on screen. A 200% preview zoom does not change the file you download.

Check all three stages. Increasing display size cannot add source detail.

Fix the cause

Use Restore 100% to remove placement enlargement, reduce the output canvas or replace the layer with a higher-resolution original. Trimming large transparent margins can make the content easier to place, but it cannot restore detail that is absent from the source.

Inspect the exported PNG

Compare the downloaded file at 100% zoom on your device. Check it at its intended size inside MiniMuse. A soft outline can be deliberate; the upscale warning describes a sampling risk rather than a guaranteed defect.
